The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) can be used to assess how proficient one is in the Japanese language. The following JLPTs are ordered from least difficult to most difficult: N5 (basic), N4 (elementary), N3 (intermediate), N2 (pre-advanced), N1 (advanced).
